What is PAACT?
- An independent educational program for physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists focusing on the optimal management of common illnesses (e.g. infections, anemia, hypertension).
- Published evidence of the PAACT educational model indicates family physicians find it useful and that it is effective in helping improve the use of antibiotics (Can Fam Phys, April 2000).

Program Description
Specially-trained family physician facilitators present:
- Interactive, case-based, small group learning modules on:
- Respiratory infections
(pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, AECB, otitis media, pneumonia) MRSA (Methicillin resistant Staph. aureus)
- Skin infections
- Urinary tract infections
- H. Pylori
- Common Anemias
- Hypertension
- Based on the ‘Orange’ Guideline Series
- This program meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada providing a total of
29 MAINPRO-C© credits.
